Help for Tutors!

Don't forget to check this website, created by Florida Literacy Coalition for tutors:  http://floridaliteracy.org/tutor_help_center.html

It includes strategies, tips, lesson plans and handouts for literacy and English learners.

If you find other helpful websites for tutors, please share them with us.

Tutoring Class of January 2012!

On Saturday, January 28, we had twenty-eight enthusiastic volunteers attend our Tutor Training at Palm Beach State College!  Trainer Megan Richards spent the day with them, reviewing tutoring strategies and techniques.

They will now go out into the community and begin working with adult learners to improve their reading skills and learn English as a second language.

To our new tutors:  Thank you for your interest, your energy and your passion.  You will impact many lives in our County through your efforts!

Welcome!

Welcome to TutorTalk!  Now that you are a tutor, or will be soon, we hope that you will share your successes, challenges and resources with other tutors in the area.

Sister Frances at St. Joan of Arc told me that one of the tutors there loves this website for teaching English:
